IT Project Manager

About the role

aFit Staffing is seeking an IT Project Manager in Indianapolis to support technology initiatives focused on software implementations, cloud-based solutions, business process improvements and digital transformation. The role suits candidates with experience leading technology projects in Agile, Scrum or hybrid environments, whether they are a Project Coordinator ready for the next step or already managing projects independently. It is a full-time consulting opportunity, primarily remote or hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Drive projects from planning through implementation, covering planning, scheduling, resource coordination, tracking progress and milestones, and maintaining documentation and status reports
• Coordinate meetings, action items and follow-up, and escalate risks, issues and dependencies
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives), help prioritise work and manage backlogs, and promote continuous improvement
• Communicate project status to stakeholders, coordinate between business and technical teams, document decisions and requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations
• Support software and technology deployments, including SaaS and enterprise software implementations, testing, deployment and rollout, and vendor and implementation partner coordination
• Support user adoption and change management, and monitor deliverables and timelines

Required profile

• Experience supporting or managing technology projects
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall or hybrid project methodologies
• Strong organisational and communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience facilitating meetings and coordinating project activities

Required skills

• Project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project or Monday.com
• Highly desired: 2+ years of IT project management or project coordination experience
• Highly desired: experience with SaaS, cloud, software implementation or digital transformation projects
• Highly desired: Scrum Master, PMP, CAPM or Agile certification
• Highly desired: familiarity with Microsoft Azure, AWS or cloud-based applications
