Investment Accounting Associate – Securities

About the role

MassMutual is seeking an Investment Accounting Associate II to join its Investment Controllership team in Boston. Reporting to the Director of Securities Controllership, you will work across Finance, Investment Management and other business units to support investment accounting and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review reconciliations of investment data and general‑ledger balances.
• Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial and management reports.
• Support periodic journal entries related to investment accounting.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to research and resolve investment‑related accounting issues.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Contribute to regulatory and external audit requests.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and new GL implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of investment accounting experience.
• Experience applying U.S. GAAP and/or STAT accounting principles.
• 1+ year of analytical experience interpreting financial data.
• CPA or CFA designation preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
