Senior Wholesale Payments Specialist

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a Senior Wholesale Payments Specialist to configure, maintain, test, and troubleshoot business applications supporting Fedwire Funds and Securities and other payment services. The role involves direct interaction with financial institutions and internal system groups to ensure accurate processing and settlement of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform business application configuration, setup, maintenance, testing, analysis and troubleshooting for Fedwire Funds and Securities payment services.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, handling inquiries, cyber‑incident response, and complex issue resolution.
• Lead special projects or assignments requiring advanced analytical, project management, and technical skills.
• Provide coaching, cross‑training, and consultation to less experienced staff and other internal teams.
• Participate in or lead improvement initiatives, user acceptance testing, and critical testing activities such as Business Continuity and Operational Readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Five to eight years of relevant experience, preferably in payments operations and business application systems.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to meet service level agreements.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Technical aptitude for Local Customer Directory (LCD), Account Management Information Systems (AMI), FedLine, and FedPayments Manager (FPM).
• Knowledge of Fedwire Funds and Securities, FedNow, and other Federal Reserve payment services.
• Project management skills and ability to manage complex technical projects.
