Information Security Engineer - Network Security

About the role

The Information Security Engineer will own and operate Harris Health's network security infrastructure, focusing on the Cisco Secure Access (SASE) platform. Reporting to the Manager of Security Operations, the role ensures secure, high‑performance connectivity for the organization’s cloud migration and supports roughly 15,000 employees across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot the Cisco Secure Access (SASE) platform and related network security tools.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for Cisco security products and integrate them with the Microsoft E5 security stack (Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview).
• Deploy and maintain Microsoft 365 Security Suite, Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, and Firepower IPS.
• Review and refine firewall rules, segmentation strategies, VPN solutions, network enclaves, and DMZ architectures.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, network operations, and clinical informatics teams to maintain secure access for all facilities.
• Create and update security standards, network diagrams, and operational documentation.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Cisco security products, especially Cisco Secure Access and Firepower.
• Working familiarity with Microsoft cloud security services (Microsoft 365 Security, Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview).
• Proven ability to support large‑scale environments (10k+ users) and drive security transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust and SASE principles.
