HR Generalist

About the role

Adient is hiring an HR Generalist for its Northwood facility. The role supports the Human Resources Manager on personnel matters and helps build positive employee relations in an employee-involved environment. Master files are kept electronically and shared with all team members.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, interview candidates and run background checks; refer qualified hourly and salaried applicants to management.
• Help plan and organize the new employee orientation program and orient new employees to plant policies, procedures, regulations and fringe benefits such as medical insurance and pensions.
• Assist in developing and writing policies and procedures for hourly and salaried employees.
• Administer the benefits program daily, handle employee inquiries, resolve problems and compile data.
• Maintain FMLA and STD records in line with company policy and regulations.
• Identify, coordinate and evaluate training and employee involvement activities that support plant goals.
• Keep employee information confidential and share it only on a need-to-know basis.
• Work with other managers and supervisors to implement HR policies, apply corrective and preventative actions when discrepancies arise, and follow safety rules and job rotations.
• Report unsafe conditions and acts, take part in safety and ergonomic committees, safety Kaizen events, blue sky initiatives, safety audits and safety observation feedback, and help achieve safety, environmental and sustainability goals.
• Review and understand Customer Specific Requirements and perform other duties assigned by the HR Manager.
