HR Generalist - Automotive Seating

About the role

Adient, a global leader in automotive seating, is hiring an HR Generalist in Riverside, Missouri. The role supports the Human Resources Manager in maintaining personnel records and reports, administering daily personnel systems such as benefits, and carrying out a wide range of personnel activities for both salaried and hourly employees.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen and interview applicants, run background checks and refer qualified candidates to management
• Plan and present new-employee orientation programs and help promote employee involvement across the plant
• Maintain personnel databases, service records, affirmative action reports and other required reports
• Help write policies and procedures such as the Employee Handbook and Safety Program
• Make job offers and orient new employees to plant policies, safety rules and fringe benefits including medical insurance and pensions
• Monitor personnel transactions such as layoffs, recalls and transfers, and monitor receptionist and HR Specialist performance
• Administer the benefits program, coordinate FMLA/FLA leaves, and coordinate special events and training
• Coordinate with other managers and supervisors on HR policy implementation
• Handle confidential work such as the salaried merit budget, EEO1/Vets 100 reporting, EEOC and immigration compliance, and the investigation and discharge process
• Stop production in the event of a quality or safety issue and complete safety audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent
• At least three years in a similar position with a sound working knowledge of personnel systems
• Leadership abilities and the ability to give clear direction
