Hotel Maintenance Engineer II (3rd Shift/Overnight)

About the role

Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Engineer II for the 3rd shift (overnight). This hands-on role covers electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance, keeping the property's systems safe and efficient and supporting a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform skilled trade work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns and emergencies
• Carry out routine inspections to spot and fix potential issues
• Operate tools, equipment and hazardous materials safely, following MSDS guidelines
• Complete documentation and maintenance records for all work
• Assist with dispatch and support team workflow
• Communicate with supervisors about job status and operational concerns
• Follow emergency response procedures and help with special event setup and minor maintenance
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized, and follow safety and environmental compliance requirements
• Attend mandatory training and meetings, and work varying schedules as needed

Required profile

• At least 2 years of hands-on maintenance or skilled trades experience, preferably in a hospitality or hotel setting
• Post-high school training or equivalent in a maintenance or engineering field, preferred
• Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or related trades
• Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams and repair manuals
• Physical ability to stand, climb ladders and lift 50+ pounds regularly

Required skills

• Proficiency with trade tools, equipment and systems
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS compliance and hazardous materials handling
• Experience with emergency response and routine inspections
