Head of Sales (Remote)

About the role

Ethos Life, a life insurance technology company, is looking for an ambitious Head of Sales to build and scale its sales teams. You will own the strategy and operations of the sales organization, lead multiple managers and teams, recruit and train agents, and work with Product, Finance and Marketing to shape staffing, compensation and sales approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the sales organization, manage multiple teams and drive performance
• Define and own KPIs across production, activity, efficiency and quality, fostering a data-driven culture
• Build and scale a team of licensed agents and managers, with career paths and a performance culture
• Develop and improve sales playbooks, scripts and sales motions for the Final Expense customer
• Run coaching programs covering call reviews, shadowing, certifications and performance improvement plans
• Work with Product and Marketing on test and experimentation roadmaps
• Set staffing plans with Finance and Marketing, and design compensation plans aligned to business outcomes

Required profile

• 8-12+ years of sales leadership experience, owning inside sales teams of 30+ in a B2C or high-volume direct-to-consumer setting
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and scaling a business through headcount growth and operational improvement
• Preferred: deep knowledge of final expense, whole life or adjacent protection products, or a background in B2C insurance, insurtech or high-velocity consumer sales
• Experience designing agent compensation plans, performance frameworks and staffing models at scale
• Excellent coach and developer of talent, and a natural cross-functional partner

Required skills

• Forecasting, pipeline management and modern CRM and telephony systems (Salesforce, Regal or equivalent)
• Ability to turn data into rapid action

The US base salary range is $178,000 - $315,000 OTE; the range shown is for new hires across US locations and does not include bonus, equity or benefits.
