General Liability Claims Adjuster (Telecommute, Georgia)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Commercial General Liability (CGL) Claims Adjuster, working remotely from Georgia. The adjuster handles end-to-end complex third-party bodily injury and property damage claims under commercial general liability policies, covering multi-jurisdictional and construction-related exposures. The role involves controlling loss costs, managing litigation and negotiating settlements.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and manage a full caseload of CGL claims, including premises liability, slip and fall, product liability, construction defects and contractual liability
• Analyze policy language, endorsements and exclusions, and draft coverage position letters, reservations of rights and denials
• Evaluate liability, damages and exposure, review medical records and IMEs, and establish and adjust reserves
• Manage litigated files, including defense counsel, litigation plans, discovery and motions, and take part in mediation, settlement conferences and trial prep
• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority and pursue risk transfer, subrogation and additional insured tenders
• Maintain client communication, provide status updates and large loss reports, and keep files accurate and compliant with audit and quality standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Adjuster licensing as required by the jurisdiction handled
• At least 5 years of commercial general liability claims experience; litigated and construction-related claims experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and to meet performance, quality and compliance metrics

Required skills

• Strong understanding of CGL coverage, policy interpretation and jurisdictional differences
• Experience managing litigated claims and working with defense counsel
• Knowledge of construction defect, additional insured coverage and risk transfer strategies
• Claims systems and Microsoft Office

What we offer

• Starting pay range of $65,000 - $90,000 USD annually for this role
