Remote Claims Examiner - Liability (GL & BI)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for General Liability and Bodily Injury claims covering all states, working remotely. The role analyzes claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, while keeping adjudication within service expectations, industry best practice and client requirements. A home-state license is required.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction professionally and on time.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Home state license required; all states jurisdiction.

Required skills

• Computer keyboarding.
• Sound hearing and vision.
• Problem-solving, analysis, judgment and discretion, with the ability to handle stress and multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
