Full-Time Teller – Customer Service & Cash Handling

About the role

Santander is seeking a full‑time Teller to join its Scotch Plains branch. In this customer‑focused role you will handle daily banking transactions, provide exceptional service, and help protect the bank from fraud.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, minimize wait times, and assist with deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other banking needs.
• Handle cash accurately, maintain cash‑drawer balances, and follow all compliance and risk‑management procedures.
• Identify and refer product solutions, cross‑sell bank services, and educate customers on digital self‑service tools.
• Support custodial duties, audits, and other operational tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and may assist nearby branches when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 6 months of cash‑handling experience.
• Minimum 6 months of demonstrated customer‑service experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow policies, and effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work branch hours, including weekends and evenings.
