Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Runetech is seeking Forward Deployed Software Engineers to join its expanding team. You will work closely with military logisticians, delivering end‑to‑end software solutions that operate in demanding, real‑world environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with end users and stakeholders to understand challenges and design software that directly addresses them.
• Own features from concept through deployment, including prototyping, system integration, and performance validation.
• Work with engineering, product, design, and operations teams to build scalable systems and drive complex projects to completion.
• Monitor and improve system reliability by instrumenting code, analyzing metrics, and iterating on fixes.
• Travel approximately 25% to field‑test and support software in operational settings.

Required profile

• Strong coding skills in Go, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages.
• High ownership mindset with a bias toward action and responsibility.
• Effective collaboration with technical and non‑technical team members in a fast‑changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills for customer‑facing engineering interactions.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).
