Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Revel is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to act as the primary technical presence at customer sites, integrating the Revel Platform with hardware across aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing. You will write production‑quality code, build custom dashboards, and shape product road‑maps based on field learnings.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑quality code and develop custom dashboards alongside customer engineering teams.
• Own end‑to‑end deployment of Revel at customer sites, connecting to test stands, sensors, actuators, and existing infrastructure.
• Build and grow deep technical relationships with customers, understanding their hardware and product goals.
• Translate field learnings into product feedback and partner with internal engineering teams.
• Travel 30–50% to customer sites, primarily in California with broader domestic and international travel.

Required profile

• 5+ years of post‑college engineering experience; computer science background preferred.
• Comfort operating in hardware environments and communicating with hardware engineers as peers.
• Strong communicator who builds lasting trust with customer engineering teams.
• Willingness to travel and work hands‑on with cutting‑edge hardware teams.
• U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement).

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, or Python; Rust is a strong plus.
• High‑level system design understanding of software, firmware, and hardware interaction.
• Experience with DAQ systems, PLCs, control systems, NI software suite, TwinCAT, or CodeSys.
• Hands‑on experience in embedded systems, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or similar hardware domains.
