Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

Reducto is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist to lead end‑to‑end deployments of its document platform into customer environments, ranging from VPCs to on‑prem bare metal. This hands‑on role bridges Reducto’s technology with enterprise infrastructure, security, and platform teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, configure, test, and roll out Reducto deployments across diverse hardware, networking, and security constraints.
• Partner with enterprise IT, security, and platform teams to assess infrastructure and design tailored deployment strategies.
• Build monitoring, telemetry, and phone‑home mechanisms that respect customer security while providing visibility.
• Debug and resolve infrastructure issues such as Kubernetes misconfigurations and cloud IAM edge cases.
• Own incident response for customer deployments and codify repeatable patterns, runbooks, and automation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience operating production infrastructure and deploying software into environments you don’t fully control.
• High bar for quality, preferring robust solutions over quick fixes.
• Comfortable communicating directly with external engineers and guiding customers through problem resolution.
• Motivated by owning customer problems end‑to‑end and building tools on the fly.

Required skills

• Python (or similar scripting language)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Container orchestration, especially Kubernetes
• Networking and storage technologies
