Field Roustabout - North Slope, AK

About the role

Worley is hiring a Field Roustabout for a remote, rotational position on the North Slope of Alaska, based in Prudhoe Bay. The schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). Meals and lodging are provided while on location, and transportation between Anchorage and the North Slope is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Routinely operate the Vac Truck, Super Sucker, Mini-Vac and other fluids-hauling equipment.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers and equipment per DOT and company requirements.
• Complete a task hazard assessment before starting any job.
• Follow all North Slope client and Worley health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
• Safely secure loads, climb ladders on upright tanks up to 25 ft and perform strapping operations to check tank ullage.
• Connect and disconnect 3" hose and pull long hose strings to make up connections up to 100 ft.
• Back a tractor-trailer into position using a spotter or cone as a reference.
• Maintain equipment in good, clean working order and keep communication with foremen, dispatch and clients.
• Attend toolbox and safety meetings, perform safety observations and equipment inspections, and take part in training.

Required profile

• Valid Class A CDL driver's license with Tanker endorsement, insurable with Worley's insurer, and a current CDL/DOT medical card.
• Ability to obtain a Hazardous Materials endorsement within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC); Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
• Preferred: one year of North Slope experience, one year operating fluid-hauling equipment, one year in the oil and gas industry, and applicable equipment-operation certifications (IVES, NCCER, etc.).

Required skills

• Ability to safely drive and operate a tractor-trailer, vacuum truck, Super Sucker and Mini-Vac.
• Knowledge of standard DOT regulations.
• Ability to work at heights, in severe weather, and to lift 50 lb and push/pull 60-90 lb loads.
