Experienced RN – Operating Room Night Shift

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Operating Room team on the night shift (6:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.). The RN will provide direct patient care, support surgical teams, and participate in on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the surgical episode.
• Assist with equipment, instrument, suture, and implant preparation; anticipate surgical team needs and ensure proper specimen handling.
• Maintain room schedule, respond to on‑call pages, and verify surgical site identification.
• Delegate tasks, mentor peers, and pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and successful completion of mandatory clinical competencies annually.
• Ability to perform full range of motion, lift patients, and work under stressful, irregular hours.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio.
