Experienced RN – Operating Room

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Operating Room team at Akron General Medical Center. The RN will provide direct patient care throughout the surgical experience, working days with on‑call, weekend and holiday rotations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care, assess patient conditions, develop and update care plans, and act as a patient advocate.
• Scrub and circulate across service lines during a six‑month orientation, assist with equipment preparation, and ensure accurate surgical site identification.
• Document treatments, administer medications, and participate in interdisciplinary evaluation and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and successful completion of mandatory clinical competencies.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and handling equipment, and to work under stressful conditions.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Scrub experience and at least two years of operating room nursing experience.
