Experienced RN – Neuroscience ICU

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the 10‑bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Akron General Medical Center. This night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) provides critical care to patients recovering from strokes, neuro‑trauma, and neurosurgery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Administer treatments and medications, document care, and coordinate interdisciplinary plans.
• Participate in quality improvement, case management, and discharge planning conferences.
• Delegate tasks, serve as a resource, and maintain required certifications.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Minimum one year of ICU or acute‑care RN experience.
• Basic Life Support certification at hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support within one year; TCAR certification within 24 months.

Required skills

• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• TCAR certification.
• RN licensure and ability to perform ICU nursing procedures.
