Environmental Services Supervisor – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Environmental Services Supervisor on the 2nd shift ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff at Akron General Medical Center. This full‑time position works evenings and includes occasional weekend coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise caregivers in daily operations, evaluate performance, and maintain staffing levels.
• Inspect assigned areas continuously to guarantee high‑quality cleaning and maintenance.
• Approve and schedule paid time off, manage cross‑coverage, and coordinate orientation, education, and training.
• Analyze workflow, recommend process improvements, and implement changes to enhance speed, quality, and effectiveness.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; one year of experience as a Work Leader, Team Lead, Project Manager, Supervisor, or a Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of experience managing direct reports and experience in environmental services or housekeeping.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and using cleaning chemicals safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Experience using Workday or similar HR/administrative software.
