Engineering Technician / Designer (Entry Level)

About the role

TechServ is seeking an entry‑level Engineering Technician/Designer to join its Electrical Distribution team. You will start with 2‑3 weeks of hands‑on training, earn industry certifications, and become proficient with the company’s proprietary CAD software. After training, you will work under the supervision of Project Coordinators on new‑build, alteration, and redevelopment projects, with occasional travel to job sites (≈20%).

Key responsibilities

• Use proprietary CAD software to produce and modify electrical distribution designs.
• Execute design assignments following the client’s standard drawings and NES procedures.
• Analyze reports, drawings, and test data to plan and design projects.
• Interpret and apply relevant design codes and specifications.
• Review design drawings for quality assurance, ensuring projects stay within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in project‑management systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, leaders, and team members to support internal change initiatives.
• Travel to regional job sites as required.

Required skills
