Employer Relations Coordinator – Job Locator & Development Program

About the role

The Employer Relations Coordinator supports the Job Locator and Development (JLD) program, linking employers with Tarleton State University students for part‑time work, internships, full‑time entry‑level positions and experiential learning.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between employers and campus stakeholders, promoting internship, part‑time and entry‑level opportunities.
• Manage and promote the university student employment system, ensuring job posting integrity and addressing employer inquiries.
• Represent the Career Center at community, regional and national networking events, career fairs and employer site visits.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and external partners such as the Texas Workforce Commission and local chambers of commerce to strengthen employer engagement.
• Collect and report employment trends and outcomes to university leadership in accordance with Department of Education guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in employer outreach, career services or workforce development.
• Strong knowledge of university majors, degree programs and local labor market.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with employers, faculty and students.

Required skills

• Proficiency with university career management platforms and related databases.
• Ability to generate reports and analyze employment data.
• Understanding of Department of Labor guidelines, NACE standards and federal work‑study requirements.
