Electronic Hardware Engineer

About the role

Matrix Design Group is seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design and develop hardware components and systems for innovative safety products. The role is based at the Newburgh, IN headquarters and works closely with cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define hardware requirements, create specifications and develop proof‑of‑concept prototypes.
• Design electrical schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer or equivalent tools.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot circuits in the lab, and document results.
• Participate in design reviews, create verification test fixtures, and support manufacturing documentation.
• Provide technical support to field service personnel and assist with component lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–8 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred, KiCad, OrCAD, Eagle acceptable).
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and multimeters.
