Dispatch Coordinator

About the role

Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI), part of Dot Foods, is hiring a Dispatch Coordinator in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. You will help plan and execute the movement of freight between distribution centers, partner with internal and external customers to support their growth and retention, and report to the Assistant Transportation Manager. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Meet company mission and strategic goals.
• Own, coordinate and implement freight movement between distribution centers.
• Ensure quality and safety in the work area.
• Compile data and reports to deliver solutions for change.
• Support the Driver Supervisor's daily activities.
• Assist with driver payroll tasks and expenses.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to address concerns.
• Work to improve productivity and reduce process cycle time.

Required profile

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• Team player willing to work as a team.
• College degree preferred; administrative or clerical experience preferred.

Required skills

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations (a plus).
