Transportation Admin Specialist

About the role

The Transportation Admin Specialist supports the Dot Transportation admin department by generating critical reports, handling system downloads, and managing payroll processes for owner‑operators and drivers. This position works closely with IT and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient transportation payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Track and measure key transportation metrics and follow up on data‑driven inquiries.
• Create and maintain procedural documentation and work instructions for training.
• Train staff on payroll software, ensuring consistent application of payroll policies.
• Provide general support to internal and external customers and serve on various committees.
• Collaborate with IT to develop and test new transportation pay programs.
• Apply lean tools to identify and eliminate waste in processes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access.
• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
