Director / VP of Strategic Finance

About the role

Shield Technology Partners is scaling its portfolio of companies and seeks a highly analytical, commercially‑mindset leader to drive financial strategy, operational insights, capital planning, and executive decision support across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership on company‑wide strategic initiatives, growth planning, and operational decision‑making.
• Develop long‑range financial and operational models to support business planning, investment decisions, and platform scaling.
• Evaluate ROI and business impact of growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and new market opportunities.
• Build and maintain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs covering recurring revenue, retention, margin, utilization and overall business health.
• Drive scenario modeling, trend analysis, and forecasting to inform executive decisions.
• Support acquisition analysis, financial diligence, integration planning and post‑acquisition performance tracking.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and governance to enhance financial and operational reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic finance, corporate development or related leadership roles.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
• Comfortable building sophisticated financial models and conducting ROI analyses.
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
• Willingness to travel quarterly and maintain periodic in‑office presence in New York.
