Director of Law Enforcement Initiatives

About the role

The Center for Innovations in Community Safety (CICS) at Georgetown Law seeks a visionary leader to direct its Law Enforcement Initiatives portfolio. The Director will shape strategies that strengthen police accountability, reduce racial disparities, and protect democratic principles across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of CICS’s policing programs, including the Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE) and ABLE Leadership Institute.
• Design and launch new initiatives that advance democratic policing, civil‑rights protection, and law‑enforcement reform.
• Provide technical assistance, training, advocacy, and communications for partner agencies.
• Build and maintain relationships with law‑enforcement leaders, governmental partners, and community stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Director of Community Safety Initiatives and the Executive Director to align CICS’s overall agenda.
• Oversee project management, monitoring, and evaluation of program impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale public‑safety or policing programs.
• Deep understanding of police accountability, civil‑rights law, and democratic policing principles.
• Strong strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project‑management capabilities.
• Ability to translate policy goals into actionable training and technical assistance.
