Director of Human Resource Management

About the role

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world‑renowned academic institute of Louisiana State University, seeks a senior HR leader to plan, develop, and implement human‑resource policies and programs that support its research mission.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate HR objectives, policies and practices and oversee their implementation across the Center.
• Lead a team of HR professionals in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, succession planning and compliance with OSHA, EEO, FMLA, ADA and other regulations.
• Serve as chief advisor to senior management on HR matters, handle employee appeals, terminations and disciplinary actions, and represent the Center to state HR agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years supervising staff.
• Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and maintain trust with scientists, administrators and support personnel.

Required skills

• Familiarity with electronic HRM systems.
• Proficiency in word processing software, email and common computer applications.
