Director of Finance & Operations

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Director of Finance & Operations to partner directly with the CEO of a fast‑growing manufacturing and distribution company in Miami. This senior leader will shape financial strategy, improve processes, and provide clear visibility into the business as it scales.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and executive team.
• Lead accounting operations, month‑end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cash‑flow management.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, product costing, COGS, and gross‑margin analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, warehouse, sales and leadership to enhance financial visibility and decision‑making.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections, dashboards, KPIs and executive‑level reports.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, procedures and documentation.
• Analyze pricing, margins, vendor costs, inventory trends and overall profitability.
• Improve accounting workflows, reporting tools and financial systems; support ERP implementation.
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, payroll providers, tax advisors and insurers.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive finance, accounting or controller experience.
• Background in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse or inventory‑driven environments.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, COGS and financial controls.
• Hands‑on leadership style in a lean, growth‑focused company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, MBA or CMA preferred.
