Tax Associate

About the role

Corient is seeking a detail‑oriented Tax Associate to join its Tax Practice, serving high‑net‑worth individuals, families, trusts, estates and private foundations. The role involves preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns while supporting clients through tax planning and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual, trust, estate, gift, foundation and business tax returns accurately and on time.
• Review source documents and OCR‑processed data for accuracy.
• Conduct tax research to support planning and compliance initiatives.
• Stay current on new tax legislation and reforms.
• Assist with Federal and State tax notices and correspondence.
• Maintain organized tax files with supporting documentation.
• Enter financial records into tax software and databases.
• Analyze client tax data to optimize outcomes.
• Support the broader tax planning process for clients and team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation or Accountancy preferred).
• Active CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• 1–3 years of experience preparing individual, trust or business tax returns (Big 4 experience preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
