Director of Accounting

About the role

Rescale is seeking a highly motivated Director of Accounting to lead its accounting operations, ensure financial record integrity, and provide strategic insights that drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, and month‑end/year‑end close.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, develop policies, and maintain strong internal controls.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, collaborating with sales and legal teams.
• Lead annual audit and tax preparation, oversee SOX compliance, and support internal audits.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a high‑performing environment.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high‑performing team.
