Dialysis Technician II

About the role

The Dialysis Technician II provides technical support for Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) to acutely ill patients in the ICU and hospital setting at Fairview Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and support CRRT and PD procedures, including CVVH, CVVHD, CVVHDF, SCUF and ECMO therapies.
• Prepare, transfer, and package dialysis solutions and baths (acid and bicarbonate) and create CRRT dialysate bags.
• Assist ICU nurses with machine setup, alarm response, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Draw bio‑samples from equipment, clean and disinfect reusable components, and monitor the central water system.
• Receive, stock, and manage supplies, including dosing potassium in acid concentrate jugs.
• Support clinical research projects and train other staff as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current State Certified Dialysis Technician (CDT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least two years of Intermittent Hemodialysis (IHD) experience.
• Physical ability to lift patients and equipment, stand for long periods, and work under stressful conditions.
