Custodian 2 – Day Shift

About the role

This full‑time position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the LSU Student Union facility during day shifts, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean lobbies, bathrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, billiards area and administrative areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting and polishing.
• Set up and break down daily events in meeting rooms, ballrooms and exterior grounds.
• Operate industrial floor machines, wet‑dry vacuums and carpet extraction equipment; maintain and recharge equipment.
• Empty and transport trash and recycling, decontaminate waste containers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Building Services supervisors.

Required profile

• At least six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping or food service work.
• Ability to work Thursday to Sunday, pass a background check and pre‑employment physical.
• Physical capability to move throughout a 305,000‑sq‑ft building, climb stairs, stand for long periods, stoop, kneel and lift furniture up to 80 lb.
