CT Technologist – PRN Radiology Position

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to join the St. Martin Hospital Radiology team. The role involves safely performing routine computed tomography procedures and serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and ensure accurate procedure selection.
• Operate CT equipment independently, including IV placement, and acquire diagnostic‑quality images.
• Review images before transmission and perform timely quality‑control checks.
• Assist with departmental operations such as inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registration (CT certified or registry‑eligible within 90 days) and current state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating computed tomography (CT) equipment and following radiation safety protocols.
• Experience with radiology information systems (RIS) and basic computer applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients and healthcare team.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and function without direct supervision.
