Controller – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Controller to build the accounting foundation of a fast‑growing wearable health‑tech startup. You will work remotely in the United States, partner directly with leadership, and own the finance function as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Run the monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries and GAAP financial reporting, aiming for a five‑day close cycle.
• Own QuickBooks Online, chart of accounts, AP/AR, payroll coordination and cash visibility.
• Reconcile inventory, strengthen costing, landed‑cost, COGS and inventory controls across a growing product range.
• Support accounting for hardware sales, annual software subscriptions and emerging service revenue.
• Identify and fix errors, improve controls, and lead the selection and implementation of the next ERP system.
• Coordinate with operations and external tax, audit and finance partners.

Required profile

• Controller‑level ownership of the books with strong GAAP fundamentals.
• Significant inventory and cost‑accounting experience in a physical‑product business.
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks Online and a track record of improving financial systems.
• Proven ability to deliver in a small, fast‑changing environment with limited support.
