Clinical Instructor, Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time) - ABA

About the role

John Carroll University's Department of Psychology is looking for a part-time Clinical Instructor (Adjunct Faculty) for its Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis program. The Clinical Instructor acts as an experienced behavior analyst, preparing graduate students to complete the curriculum and supervising them during fieldwork and onsite service delivery. Candidates with a focus in areas such as health and wellness, organizational behavior management, mental health, forensic behavior analysis, sports ABA or sustainability are particularly encouraged.

Key responsibilities

• Model professional behavior and standards of practice, using evidence-based practices in the clinical setting.
• Provide 25 hours of direct supervision to the assigned student over the semester (about 5 months).
• Give ongoing verbal and written feedback on student progress through supervision progress reports.
• Assign students weekly to patients according to their learning needs, help them collect objective and subjective data, and guide their observation, assessment, decision-making and health teaching.
• Supervise medication administration and delegate selected nursing functions according to student competency.
• Hold pre- and post-clinical conferences, grade written assignments, keep accurate records and complete clinical evaluations.
• Refer students to college services when needed and collaborate with the Fieldwork Coordinator and lead course faculty.

Required profile

• Master's degree.
• BCBA certification and state licensure where applicable.
• At least 3 years of clinical practice experience.
• Meets the Supervisor Qualifications of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board where applicable.
• Criminal history and background check clearance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent time management, organizational and leadership skills.
