Client Relationship Executive – Strategic Relationship Management

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a high‑performing Client Relationship Executive to lead business development initiatives for state and local government clients. The role focuses on building strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving revenue growth over a multi‑year horizon.

Key responsibilities

• Drive targeting across client business units and develop strategic plans to generate 2‑3+ year revenue.
• Identify and cultivate “white space” relationships with key client executives.
• Lead pursuit teams, provide client insights, and coordinate cross‑disciplinary proposals.
• Collaborate with Lead Client Service Partners to monitor client financial plans and ensure consistent pursuit processes.
• Provide deep knowledge of client history, culture, and competitive landscape to inform solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven business development or relationship management experience with state and local government clients.
• Strong professional services sales background with a track record of capture and sales.
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and mentor others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
