Child Welfare Services Field Program Specialist (Permanency)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Field Program Specialist focused on permanency. The role involves research, policy development, and program administration to strengthen families and protect vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data related to performance indicators and resources.
• Design and publish plans for assessing program needs and implementing improvements.
• Develop and deliver formal and informal training for staff and external partners.
• Provide consultation on placement policy, permanency roundtables, and complex case reviews.
• Monitor compliance, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend policy enhancements.
• Support regional initiatives such as the Hoteling Project, NYTD, Credit Reporting Project, and Head Start/Early Learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least four years of professional experience, including one year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience with foster care, placement, and child welfare programs preferred.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record.
