Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor to lead a social services unit in Kingsland, Camden County. This permanent position reports to the Child Welfare Administrator and oversees investigative and case management services for child abuse or neglect.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work of assigned staff, setting unit goals and regulating workloads.
• Conduct home‑visit evaluations, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare reports in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Coordinate and monitor children in out‑of‑home placements and in‑home interventions, ensuring timely follow‑up actions.
• Develop case plans that utilize community resources and initiate legal processes for guardianship, protective services, placement, or adoption.
• Review, approve or disapprove casework performed by staff and maintain required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and three years of job‑related case management experience, or one year of experience at a lower‑level Child Welfare Services Case Manager position.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel statewide.
• Pass standard agency testing protocol and pre‑employment background checks.
