Chief of Staff to the CEO (Strategy & Business Operations)

About the role

Remote Legal Staff is seeking a senior leader to serve as the Chief of Staff to the CEO, driving strategy and business operations across the organization. This full‑time remote position works aligned with US business hours and reports directly to the CEO and President.

Key responsibilities

• Run the CEO and President’s operating cadence, including leadership meeting rhythm, agendas, quarterly priorities, and decision tracking.
• Convert every leadership decision into an owner, deadline, and closed loop to ensure execution.
• Filter information reaching the CEO, package critical items, and resolve issues that do not require their attention.
• Prepare the CEO for high‑stakes moments such as leadership meetings, difficult conversations, and key negotiations.
• Lead ambiguous, cross‑functional projects from concept to delivery and hand them off to permanent owners.
• Build analysis and decision support materials, including models, memos, and options with clear recommendations.
• Monitor company KPIs, identify early drift, and propose corrective actions to leadership.
• Draft company‑wide communications and represent the CEO in meetings, providing judgment and follow‑up.

Required profile

• 5+ years in operations leadership, management consulting, or a Chief of Staff/right‑hand role with ownership of outcomes.
• Proven track record of owning cross‑functional projects and holding senior leaders accountable without formal authority.
• Direct people‑management experience, having led a team.
• Demonstrated analytical depth through building models, decision memos, or executive‑level analysis.
• Exceptional written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or a comparable analytical field.

• Strong command of business metrics and KPI monitoring.
• Fluency with automation tools and AI technologies.
