Certified Nursing Assistant – Med/Surg – Night Shift – Full Time

About the role

This full‑time night‑shift position supports patient safety and basic care on the St. Mary Campus Med/Surg unit. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will observe patients, report changes, and assist with daily care activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Observe patients continuously, notify nursing staff of any changes, and intervene when necessary to ensure safety.
• Communicate patient needs effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Complete documentation of all patient‑related tasks and follow delegated nursing instructions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital or telemetry experience preferred.
• Current Louisiana CNA certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.

• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
