Cardiovascular Technician II – Evening Shift

About the role

The Cardiovascular Technician II EKG Coordinator provides non‑invasive cardiac diagnostic services for both inpatient and outpatient settings at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital. The position works primarily on the evening shift and supports additional locations as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 12‑lead electrocardiograms, Holter monitor hook‑ups, and cardiac stress testing (including 24‑hour, 48‑hour, and 30‑day event monitors).
• Notify physicians, nurses, or managers of abnormal results and ensure timely communication of supply needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot EKG equipment, escalating unresolved issues to Clinical Engineering.
• Process test results before and after physician interpretation and document findings accurately.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Minimum six months experience as an ECG technician; stress‑testing experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Proficiency in performing 12‑lead EKGs, Holter monitoring, and cardiac stress testing.
• Knowledge of EKG techniques, equipment operation, and peripheral devices.
• Basic troubleshooting of cardiovascular diagnostic equipment.
• Understanding of infection control and use of personal protective equipment.
