About the role

HEI, a leading civil construction company, is seeking an experienced Earthworks Foreman to join its Dallas team. You will lead crews performing excavation, grading, road construction, and underground utility installation while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise earthmoving crews on tasks such as excavation, grading, site preparation, road building, and utility installation.
• Communicate effectively with employees, managers, subcontractors, and HR.
• Schedule and coordinate materials, personnel, equipment, and other resources to meet project timelines.
• Prioritize safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and environmental safety standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections, risk analyses (JHA), equipment reports, confined‑space permits, and trench/excavation reports.
• Work independently and collaboratively with other supervisors, offering ideas to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members to enhance skills and performance.
• Accurately record and report employee hours, equipment operation hours, and production quantities.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Foreman in earthmoving, grading, or similar heavy civil construction roles.
• Extensive knowledge of excavation, grading, site development, underground utility installation, and road construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and grading data.
