Business Analyst - Government Client Engagement (Remote)

About the role

QualityWorks Consulting Group is looking for a mid-level Business System Analyst to collect and analyze domain-specific context for each system in scope on a government client engagement. The role sits between business stakeholders and the delivery team, turning requirements, business rules and workflows into structured, validated documentation that developers, testers and AI/automation components can rely on. It is remote, based in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit requirements, business rules and workflows from stakeholders and turn them into documented, validated context.
• Maintain requirements, business-rule and domain-context documentation as a source of truth for downstream teams.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, developers and the test team so everyone shares the same understanding.
• Track gaps, assumptions and open questions and drive them to resolution.
• Monitor changes to requirements and business rules and communicate their impact.
• Flag areas of low confidence before they become defects and facilitate stakeholder meetings to resolve ambiguities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst or similar requirements-focused role on a software delivery team.
• Experience eliciting requirements from stakeholders and writing clear documentation developers and testers can use.
• Experience working with both business and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, security-conscious environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a Public Trust determination and DoD system access, and able to complete background and security training within the post-award window.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum (backlog grooming, sprint reviews, acceptance criteria).
• Nice to have: IIBA or PMI-PBA certification, requirements tools such as JIRA or Confluence, and experience with GFI handling.
