Biologics Process R&D Internship – 2027 Future Talent Program

About the role

The 2027 Future Talent Program offers a 10‑12‑week full‑time internship in Biologics Process Research & Development. Interns will work in state‑of‑the‑art laboratories on projects that develop novel bioprocess technologies and address key challenges in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Support fundamentals of bioprocessing across cell line development, upstream/downstream processes, high‑throughput screening, media development, -omics and continuous bioprocessing.
• Participate in departmental and project team meetings, record experimental details in electronic notebooks, and analyse data for internal or external publications.
• Present research results in both oral and written formats.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science or related discipline.
• Available to work full‑time for 10‑12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027 and have completed at least two years of study by June 2027.
• Strong academic performance (GPA ≥ 3.0 preferred) and ability to work in a multi‑functional, fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Basic laboratory skills: lab notebook recording, use of instrumentation, data analysis, safe lab practices.
• Familiarity with engineering tools for USMO roles: CAD software, DCS/PLC systems, data historians, P&IDs.
• Data science, computational biomolecular modeling and machine‑learning techniques.
