Backend/AI Engineer

About the role

Reducto is seeking a Backend/AI Engineer to develop and scale its core API that powers document parsing for hundreds of enterprise customers. You will work closely with founders and customers to integrate cutting‑edge large language models and build robust document processing pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and optimize LLM calls for structured extraction, form filling, and document understanding.
• Improve API design and preprocessing algorithms such as chunking and extraction based on feedback.
• Build and scale pipelines handling PDFs, spreadsheets, and other formats.
• Experiment with new techniques to boost LLM accuracy and reduce latency.
• Develop internal tooling and evaluation frameworks to analyze failure cases.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience building production applications and integrating LLMs.
• High quality bar, fast shipping mindset, and strong ownership.
• Quantitative, data‑driven approach to product development.
• Comfortable handling the full development lifecycle from ideation to release.

• Streamlit (or similar rapid‑prototype tools)
