Associate Scientist – Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics

About the role

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program at MSD offers an academic‑focused experience within a commercial pharmaceutical environment. This role advances translational pharmacokinetic modeling to support pediatric exposure prediction and dose selection for long‑acting biologics.

Key responsibilities

• Review and curate nonclinical and clinical pharmacokinetic data from published and internal sources.
• Integrate multi‑source data to develop, evaluate, and apply quantitative PK/PD models.
• Develop and qualify fit‑for‑purpose pharmacokinetic and translational models for pediatric drug development.
• Assess model performance, uncertainty, and translate results into recommendations for multidisciplinary teams.
• Present research at conferences and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (or expected by spring 2027) in a quantitative discipline such as mathematical biology, biostatistics, pharmacometrics, or related field.
• Experience with pharmacokinetic modeling (population PK, PBPK).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language or pharmacometrics tool (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python, NONMEM, Monolix, Phoenix WinNonlin).
• Demonstrated scientific writing record (publications or preprints).
