Associate Director Strategic Sales & Commercial Transformation (m/f/x) - Midwest US

About the role

Mutares, a listed private equity holding company that acquires and repositions medium-sized companies, is hiring an Associate Director for Strategic Sales and Commercial Transformation covering the Midwest US. The role leads commercial transformation across compounding and blend operations to improve sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial transformation across compounding and blend operations to enhance sales performance.
• Analyse customer, product and channel profitability to find pricing, mix and margin improvement opportunities across US markets.
• Redesign commercial processes such as pipeline management, account planning, segmentation, pricing discipline and forecasting.
• Support go-to-market strategy development, including market positioning, key account strategies and competitive differentiation for technical materials.
• Implement KPI-based performance tracking to ensure transparency, ownership and continuous improvement in the local sales organization.
• Partner with the Mutares cross-functional restructuring team to align commercial decisions and execute sales initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in business, economics, engineering or a related field with outstanding results.
• At least 6 years of experience in Commercial Excellence or Sales Transformation, ideally in chemicals, polymers, materials or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of B2B sales in technical products, ideally compounding, engineered materials or downstream plastics.
• Proven track record in pricing, margin improvement and commercial process redesign.
• Business fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 4 days per week across the US.
