Account Manager - Benefits

About the role

Vensure Employer Solutions, a provider of HR technology, managed services and business process outsourcing, is looking for an Account Manager for benefits. The role oversees and manages assigned clients, works with sales and support teams to implement new or renewing accounts, and maintains ongoing client relationships. It requires strong knowledge of group benefits, negotiation skills and the ability to travel for client meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementations for new and renewing clients and hold strategy meetings with the Business Consultant
• Negotiate benefits and rates, request renewals from carriers, and conduct pre-renewal and renewal meetings (in person or via Zoom)
• Deliver final renewals, obtain applications and monitor benefit administration portals, with submissions at least 15 days before the effective date
• Perform first bill audits and host a meeting with the client on open enrollment results
• Build relationships with key contacts to maintain retention and satisfaction, and provide professional customer service to employees
• Respond to requests within 24 hours, give status updates if resolution takes longer, and educate employees and key contacts
• Ensure compliance with benefits and contributions, file compliance documents, and manage COBRA

Required profile

• Health and Life Insurance license (mandatory)
• 2-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of experience, skills and education; bachelor's degree preferred
• Knowledge of employee benefits, compliance and payroll
• Ability to read and interpret SBCs, insurance regulations and governmental regulations

Required skills

• Intermediate or higher knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Use of multiple platforms to access client, employee, carrier, payroll and HR information
