Outside Sales Representative - Restaurant Ingredients

About the role

The Chefs' Warehouse, a distributor of specialty ingredients, proteins and produce to chefs, is looking for an Outside Sales Representative. As a Sales Associate you act as the face of the company, selling its products to restaurants, caterers, hotels and retail establishments while building lasting relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sales by developing new business and expanding relationships with existing accounts
• Build a prospect list from networking, directories, ads, trade shows and websites
• Travel your assigned territory and call on existing and prospective customers to secure orders
• Present products using samples or catalogs highlighting key features and benefits
• Quote prices and credit terms, prepare contracts and give estimated delivery dates
• Collect payments on time and track stock levels against customer demand
• Maintain transaction records, expense reports and account receivables, and work with inside sales reps to keep account activity up to date

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales or as a chef is highly desired
• Commutable distance to the assigned sales area and reliable transportation
• College degree desired but not required
• Basic computer skills and some proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Salary between $75,000 and $80,000 with an uncapped commission plan
