Job description

About the role

Novartis is hiring an Associate Director, Access & Reimbursement (ADAR) for its Radioligand Therapies (RLT) business in Colorado. This is a field-based role that proactively provides in-person (or virtual when needed) education to defined accounts on access and reimbursement topics, serving as the patient access and reimbursement lead in business-to-business conversations with account executives. The role focuses on accounts with complex processes and workflows, such as integrated delivery networks, academic medical institutions and large specialty practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Educate providers and staff on programs and acquisition pathways, including buy-and-bill, white bagging, clear bagging and brown bagging, and support pull-through of coverage decisions and reimbursement.
  • Answer customer questions on ordering, payment, inventory, returns and replacement, and inform customers about sponsored patient support programs (e.g., co-pay assistance).
  • Work with key members of therapeutic area offices, including billing and coding staff, claims departments and revenue cycle managers, and support treatment sites with onboarding (RAM license, W9, PRD preferences).
  • Partner with the Patient Support Center hub and Access & Reimbursement Managers on case tracking, issue resolution and reimbursement support.
  • Collaborate with Customer Engagement, Market Access, Marketing, Public Affairs, State & Government Affairs and Specialty Pharmacy Account Management, and share insights on customer needs and barriers.
  • For RLT, assess site readiness for nuclear medicine procurement, support procurement and logistics communication, and liaise with Market Access on purchase agreements and GPO forms.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree required; business or biological science education preferred; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals/biotech in patient services, market access, sales and/or account management, with 2 years in a patient services practice support role for a specialty product.
  • Experience with complex practices and health systems, strategic account management, and integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
  • Must live within the assigned territory, drive regularly (at least 50% travel), and hold a fully valid, unrestricted driver's license; driving is an essential function.
  • Preferred: experience presenting to C-level account executives and cross-functional collaboration.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail) and commercial payers, Medicare and state Medicaid.
  • Experience with specialty products acquired through specialty pharmacy networks.
  • Strong analytical thinking, project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Salary range: $160,300 - $297,700.
